Cats or dogs?
Definitely cats, I have 3.
Night in or night out? Night in, I'm not exactly rock n roll!
Spend or save? I think I've got a good mix of both.
Blonde or brunette? I've gotta say brunette all the way!
Heels or flats? Us girls love heels but flats are so much comfier, so flats!
Rock or Pop? Not really in to rock, I like soul and R&B music like Michael Jackson, Alexandra O'Neil, Toni Braxton, Mariah Carey.
Dress up or dress down? It's nice to make the effort when you go out but I'm definitely a jeans and t-shirt girl.
Summer or Winter? I feel happier when the sun is shining, and when I have a tan! Having said that, I do love Christmas.
Gym or takeaway? Takeaway, I've been to the gym 3 times and got very bored!
Coffee or Tea? I love a cup of tea.
Boxers or briefs? I like a man in boxers, not a fan of the y-fronts!
Thong or big pants? I prefer little hotpant like shorts, but wear thongs too.
Sunbathe or sightsee? I think a bit of both makes the best holiday, you want to come home with a tan but baking in the sun can get a bit tedious after a while.

Lily Allen's in the pink again after her health scare

http://img.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2007/11_04/LillyDB_468x628.jpg

Lily Allen looked in the pink again at the fashion industry's Oscars last night following the revelation that a heart murmur propelled her towards a dramatic weightloss.

The Smile singer wore a pink feathered designer gown to The British Fashion Awards, in London - where Stella McCartney took the top prize of Designer of the Year.

The newly-slimline Allen looked a picture of health in the stunning Giles Deacon gown, despite her recent revelation which revealed her new look was due to being diagnosed with a heart murmur.

Party pals: Lily and fellow party-girl Kelly Osbourne who was out for the second night in a row

Allen was joined by pal Kelly Osbourne at the star-studded event which saw Stella McCartney awarded the top prize of designer of the year at the annual British Fashion Awards.

It has been a bit of an annus horribilis for Stella McCartney but last night saw her luck decidedly change.

And the 36-year-old designer, whose third child is due early next year, was thrilled at being awarded the top prize at the annual awards.

Since launching her collection in 2001, McCartney has gone from strength to strength, carving out a real niche with sharp but feminine tailoring and nifty ways with a slip dress. She also launched her first beauty collection, Care, this summer.

Get Sophie's glamorous look

This month, the British model launches her first novel, The Man With The Dancing Eyes, said to be based on her dalliance with Mick Jagger.

Sophie Dahl, 24, is single and divides her time between London and New York. She is the face of fashion house Pringle and shoe company Patrick Cox.

Errol keeps her hair classic, rather than fashionable. He recently cut layers into it and graduated the bottom to give it more body. A cut with Errol starts from £127.

Colourist Tracey Petterson gives Sophie's hair light-blonde tints (from £60). Among her haircare products, she has used the Charles Worthington Results range, available from Boots.

Health and fitness

Sophie was famous for being a voluptuous, larger-sized model, but has worked out vigorously with top fitness trainer David Marshall, known as The Body Doctor.

She is transformed from a size 16 to a size 8.

She follows a strict diet, but drinks alcohol at parties and has not been able to give up smoking.

Skincare and cosmetics

Sophie prides herself on her porcelain English rose complexion. When she has had too many late nights, she relies on Guerlain's Issima Midnight Secret Late Night Recovery Treatment (£29.50 for 15ml), nicknamed 'sleep in a bottle'.

She has visited celebrity facialist Eve Lom at her salon and been to the Elemis Day Spa in Mayfair for the Wellbeing massage.

Sophie uses the Elemis bodycare range at home, especially the Skin Nourishing Milk Bath (£35.50) and Exotic Lime and Ginger Salt Glow (£32.5).

She creates translucent skin using Urban Decay's 4-in-one Powder Foundation (£21). She favours pale pink glossy lips and uses Urban Decay's Lip Gunk (£8.50).

Fashion

As the face of Pringle for its spring/summer collection, Sophie likes its classic twinsets that start at £65 for the tanktop and £95 for the matching cardigan, which she wears in pastels.

She is always well-groomed, and even jeans are teamed with coats and smart jackets. For glamour, she turns to Versace. Daytime chic is by Joseph.

Shoes

At 6ft, Sophie does not need heels, but she is still partial to them. Advertising the Patrick Cox Wannabe collection, Sophie wears the 3in heels (from £110), available from the Sloane Street boutique, but she also wears their loafers when out shopping.

For glitzy parties, she finishes her outfits with spiky heels from Manolo Blahnik or Versace.

Fitness guru Carole knocks Cowell into shape

He grooms wannabes into pop stars. She simply grooms. As one of the country's best known style consultants, Carole Caplin probably didn't have to audition for her latest project.

The woman who helps Cherie Blair with everything from gym training to fashion has been recruited as Simon Cowell's fitness guru.

The 45-year-old millionaire record producer behind The X-Factor TV pop contest apparently wants to tone up a little.

So far Miss Caplin - who accompanies Mrs Blair on her weekly gym visits - has helped him lose more than a stone.

Cowell, who favours high-waisted trousers and tight t-shirts, has also been given some tips on his wardrobe.

If his adviser's taste is anything to go by, he could soon be swopping his favourite black for rosier hues.

Miss Caplin, 42, dressed entirely in pink when she met Cowell and his friend, the model Jackie St Clair, for dinner in Mayfair.

Cowell is said to be working on five new television projects, including a gameshow based on big-money gambling.

He said he decided to lose weight after seeing himself on TV. "I took a look at myself on telly one day and thought 'I just look too damn fat' so I went about doing something about it. I just cut right back, don't eat puddings now and just generally do more exercise.

"When I went to Barbados over New Year I felt fine about taking my top off for the first time."

Penny's best beauty secrets

http://images.askmen.com/galleries/model/penny-lancaster/pictures/penny-lancaster-picture-1.jpg

"Although I have good genes to thank for my physique, I am certain that if I didn't work so hard to maintain my figure, things would have started sagging by now. However much we might wish for quick-fix ways to get in shape, there's no getting round the reality that if you want to look good it's a question of putting down your fork and getting off your backside.

At school I towered over both boys and girls and was dreadfully skinny. I hated my 36in legs - now my major asset - and would wear three pairs of thick tights to lend them bulk.

My mother told me to be proud of my stature and walk tall, but it was only when I was approached by a modelling agency in my early 20s that I began to feel confident about the way I looked.

I hail from a sporty family and I'm very grateful for that because exercise - even more than diet - is the key to a youthful appearance.

My father has always been into weight training and my brother Oliver, now 30, works as a fitness instructor. In my teens I would accompany my mother to the gym and I swam for Essex. From the age of six I had tap, ballet and modern dance classes with a view to turning professional.

Unfortunately, by the age of 16, it was obvious my height was going to be a problem, so I stopped dancing and took up aerobics. I enjoyed it so much I considered it as a career. At 22, I took the YMCA Teachers Training Exercise to Music qualification. Looking to the future, I'd like to open a fitness centre with my brother.

Luckily, exercise for me has always been more pleasure than chore. It releases natural endorphins to lift your spirits and can help you lose weight or tone up. If I go without exercising for a couple of days I literally feel the blues descending. Even though Rod and I are constantly travelling, we always try to exercise.

I aim to stave old age off for as long as possible by keeping fit and Rod feels the same way. We don't need a gym - we are happy running or doing circuit training in the local park, and using a bench for step-ups.

I know many would consider me to have a perfect model figure, but at 6ft 1in and 10 stone, I'm considered too 'big' for the catwalk.

I've always been of the opinion, though, that you should work with what nature gave you. I'd rather be toned and athletic-looking and make a career from modelling lingerie, hosiery and sportswear than starve myself just to be able to do shows.

Of course, there are still some things I'd like to change about myself - for example, I have ugly feet. My toes are all bunched up from years of ballet, but I've learnt to accept them and now bare them in strappy heels.

For the most part, I feel comfortable with myself, which I think is in no small part due to being in a loving and supportive relationship. Rod finds me sexy and that makes me feel great. What other people think about me is really not important.

I would never change myself physically for a man, although I have been known to change from trousers to a skirt for Rod because he likes my legs. I haven't really thought about plastic surgery because I'm still only 32, but it is at odds with my attitude to healthy living.

You should never say never, but it should only ever be a last resort - that is, when you've exhausted every natural avenue of self-improvement. The problem is where you draw the line once you start having nips and tucks. Eating healthily is a good way to combat bad habits which might age you. If Rod and I have had a blow-out meal, we'll make sure we're good the next day. We try to have three light meals a day.

It might be fruit and cereal for breakfast, then a salad for lunch with nuts, seeds and flax oil as a dressing. I don't eat much red meat, so dinner will be chicken or fish with fresh vegetables.

One great tip to slim down quickly is, for four or five days before a big event, to cut out alcohol, salt and refined foods such as sugar and white flour, as well as carbohydrates. I never crash diet, but that will help reduce bloating. I drink at least three litres of water a day, and moisturise and exfoliate regularly.

Sometimes I get Rod to scrub my back with a loofah to help detox. My secret for smooth, shiny legs is mixing Nivea with almond oil and some Revlon tanning cream. It creates a fantastic glow. Whatever I may do cosmetically, however, I know that the secret to looking good starts on the inside - and that means getting your muscles and heart going through exercise.

My video works every muscle group and most of it is low-impact aerobics - the best way to lose weight and suitable for all fitness levels.

The best way to get results is to exercise three or four times a week for 30 to 40 minutes. But if you want to look slim for the new year, don't wait until the Christmas bingeing is done. Think damage limitation - then you can eat and drink yourself silly without worrying.

Janice Battersby Becomes Unlikely Fitness Guru

http://www.fakefaces.co.uk/images/lookalikes/fullsize/171-171.jpg

Coronation Street bigmouth Janice Battersby has become Britain's unlikeliest exercise guru after topping the fitness DVD charts.

Actress Vicky Entwistle, who plays Janice in the ITV1 soap, is outselling nearest rival Jade Goody by three to one at Tesco.

She made her Weight Off Workout DVD after shedding two-and-a-half stone on a diet and fitness programme - dropping from a size 16 to a tiny size six.

Tesco spokeswoman Gemma Kirkham said: "British dieters are going crazy for Vicky's fitness DVD, which is streets ahead of the rest of the pack.

"Vicky appeals to ordinary people because of her fantastic weight loss recently. And because of her down-to-earth role in Coronation Street she's far more believable than skinny model types who used to bring out fitness DVDs."

Entwistle, 38, was spurred on to lose weight after seeing an unflattering paparazzi photograph of herself on the beach in Barbados. She turned to Jordan's personal trainer Richard Callender for help.

After embarking on an exercise regime and cutting out crisps, biscuits and take-aways, she lost two-and-a-half stone in just three months.

"I'm absolutely gobsmacked how much I've lost," she said. "My whole outlook has changed. I feel so much healthier and it's great to be able to buy nice clothes. I feel like a different person.

"I was always the fat ugly one from Corrie - but not any more."

Also doing well in the DVD stakes is former Pop Idol winner Michelle McManus. The singer is sixth in the Tesco chart with her diet and fitness plan.

Once weighing in at 23 stone, she has lost 10 stone thanks to health eating guru Gillian McKeith.

Other celebrities in the New Year chart include former Brookside star Jennifer Ellison, Fat Friends actress Gaynor Faye and singer-turned-Coronation Street barmaid Kym Ryder.

"During January, fitness DVDs are so popular they even outsell many Hollywood blockbuster films as people who piled on the pounds over Christmas feel too ashamed to show off their bellies in the gym and prefer to exercise at home," said Kirkham.

"There has been a huge increase in fitness DVD titles this year, with even minor celebrities getting in on the act."

Top Fitness Guru

She claims she has dropped two dress sizes after splitting from her boyfriend Seb Chew.

But sources say the real reason behind Lily Allen's recent weight loss: she is paranoid over her "chunky" thighs, ankles and rear and has been mortified by magazine articles picking up on her larger lower half.

Her new management team have sent her to "Body Doctor" David Marshall in Primrose Hill, who has been giving her intensive diet and training sessions to help her tone her legs.

http://img.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2007/10_04/lilyallenWENN_468x563.jpg

The fitness guru, who is famous for bringing model Sophie Dahl from a size 18 to a 12, has put Lily on his six-week one-on-one course.

And the results are not just showing on her lower half - the 22-year-old is also noticibly thinner in the arms and face.

The singer has cut out sugar and wheat, and is on a diet of fish, lean meats and steamed vegetables.

On top of this, she has to drink a special juice of ginger, beetroot, carrot, apple and celery, as well as concentrated artichoke and celery juice tonics three times a day.

Marshall - who can also boast Ant and Dec, Frank Lampard and Rio Ferdinand among his clients - is not known for mincing his words, and his training sessions with feisty Lily often turn the air blue.

A source says: "He pushes people very, very hard. He'll shout at her, 'Come on Lily, one more', and Lily will scream back 'F**k off you b*****d!'

"She is very conscious about how her figure is portrayed in the media, and is paranoid about her chunky bottom half.

"It was her new management team that recommended David, and they were keen for her to get back into shape. She has been working out every other day, with particularly gruelling exercises to get rid of her 'cankles' ? where her calves join her ankles.

"David makes her do controlled weight training, doing 25 reps with a heavy weight. It's pretty agonising, but Lily keeps coming back for more. She is four weeks into her six-week course, and has already dropped two dress sizes."
