There's not an MMA fan out there who doesn't know the name Rachelle Leah—and with good reason. The former Men's Fitness cover model began modeling at the age of 16 and has gone on to appear in a number of magazines and TV shows.

And now, you'll find the sexy host of Spike TV's UFC: All Access show burning up the pages of Playboy's November issue. Though she's appeared in the magazine once before as a clothed "Babe of the Month," this is her first nude spread.

Have you always been interested in fantasy sports?
Most women are very intimidated by [fantasy sports], but a friend of mine, who's been playing for 10 years, was like, "You have got to do this." So I got a group of girls together; some were former models who were my friends. We signed up for a fantasy football league and did a draft at my house-last year was my first year playing, this is my second year-and I could not get over how addictive it was. I made cheat sheets for the girls as well, thinking, 'They're not going to be paying a lot of attention.' Turns out, we were all out for blood. There were catfights. I'm still not talking to one of the girls. It was insane. I think girls can be even worse than guys. Guys can brush it off and say, 'Dude, that's not right' and then they're over it. Women are a different story.

Most guys would never guess that women could be that hardcore when it comes to fantasy sports.
With the smack talk going on, the catfights, the draft night - I thought some girls were going to have to go at it outside. I'm probably exaggerating a little, but not much. It became so competitive and I think women-especially if they're playing against guys-are going to be even more competitive because they've got more to prove.

If women started to dominate a fantasy football league, would guys be intimidated or impressed?
Oh, intimidated-absolutely. Guys want to keep thinking that this is their game. The truth is, it's not anymore.

Do men find it easier to approach women who are interested in sports?
One time, these guys were so intimidated to come to our table because they saw my girlfriend and I wearing jerseys and yelling at the TV screen. They were like, 'Whoa! What's going on over here?' But this is a whole new turn-on for men: women who can hold their own in a conversation about sports. My friends and I have gotten marriage proposals because of it! Another friend said that it was the best thing that happened to her relationship with her boyfriend. Now, she will get in the car and listen to sports talk radio on long trips.

How can a guy get his girlfriend interested in sports?
Some guys join 10 different leagues. I think it would be nice if they would ask their girlfriends to participate. Show her the ins and outs. Honestly, it does open up the conversation in a relationship. And how many relationships fail because the guy wants to be in front of the TV every Sunday and Saturday, and the girl wants to do something else? So my advice: guys need to encourage their women to get involved - that way you have less to be nagged about. It's a good move on their part.

What are the things you look for in a guy?
Oh, the question of the day. When it comes to sports, I would, of course, love it if a guy can hold his own in a conversation. If he likes to go to football games-if he likes Big 10 basketball, even better. If men can be really loyal to a team-if he's a huge Yankees fan or whatever-that carries a lot of weight in life too. That might mean that he's a pretty honest and loyal guy. Some of my best guy friends are die-hard fans of whatever team, and they tend to be good guys. That carries over to relationships...if you show some loyalty, then you might get it back.

How do you stay in such great shape?
Edith: I watch what I eat and work out at least 4 times a week.

Do you have any sports you play when you're not working out?
I like rollerblading in the summer and scuba-diving when I get a chance. I am also thinking of taking up Muay-thai boxing.

How do you motivate yourself to go to the gym?
It's easy. Knowing I have to get up in front of millions of UFC fans worldwide in a revealing outfit is motivation enough, but I would train regardless because I like to feel fit and take care of myself.

What's the most excited aspect of being an Octagon girl?
Having a front-row seat to the most exciting sport ever—MMA.

Have you met a lot of celebrities since becoming an Octagon girl?
Being a huge UFC fan , the chance to meet all the UFC fighters in person is a real thrill of a lifetime. All the guys are really friendly (outside of the Octagon) and I am really happy that I have had a chance to get to know George St-Pierre. He's a great guy.

What's your guiltiest pleasure?
I have a sweet-tooth, especially for chocolate desserts—but I never indulge more than once a week.

What's the first physical characteristic you notice in a guy?
Hmm . . . hard to decide. There's not one thing in particular. I'll notice a guy who is the complete package. Fit, but not too buff.

You're originally from Canada. What's the biggest difference between American guys and Canadian guys?
American guys are more intense and Canadian guys seem to be more laid-back.

How can a guy win you over?
I know its cliché but he has to be a gentleman and he has to be able to make me laugh.

Would you ever date a fighter? Why or why not?
I think it would be too hard for me to watch my boyfriend or husband take punches and kicks . . . even the winners get hit.

Do you have a favorite song you workout to?
I like to listen to house music when I work-out.

What's your favorite movie? Why?
The Notebook. Because I adore love stories—especially the ones that make you cry.

Would you ever fight? If so, who would you most want to step into the Octagon with?
I am not thinking of starting a career as an MMA fighter anytime soon if that's what your asking, but if you hurt anyone in my family or that I love, I'll drag you into that Octagon so fast your head will spin.

Your Octagon Girl profile says you enjoy skydiving. How many times have you jumped?
Three times so far. I can't wait to go again. I love the adrenaline rush.

What is it like to jump out of an airplane?
Kinda like jumping out of a tree, but a lot higher. Just kidding. You gotta try it to know.

Your bio says that you want a career in real estate. Where would you build your dream house and why?
I would have a small home in the Bahamas for the winters and spend my summers in Montreal. Its a crazy fun city in the summer with all the festivals and the night-life, and all my friends are family are here.

Tell me three things that not too many people know about you.
1) I'm a great listener.
2) I love animals, especially my little Yorkshire, Chico.
3) Although I would never do it in front of people because I am a lady and have manners, I can burp really, really loud when I am alone.

The Business Of Fitness Modeling

Question: Which former fitness model was selected to host a televised comedy show?

(You can find the answer at the end of this article.)

Not everyone agrees with the adage, "If you've got it, flaunt it." But, for those who have spent the time and energy to get their bodies into rock-hard shape, fitness modeling provides the occasion to strut their stuff and collect some green.

Flip through the pages of fitness magazines and it's not altogether difficult to find pictures of toned men and sensational women. Today, we'll examine what's needed to get into this seemingly glamorous business of fitness modeling, how much money is available, and who the superstars are.

Breaking into fitness modeling

For some people, bodybuilding competitions can be a springboard into the world of fitness modeling. A person desiring to enter the field will encounter a virtual who's who in the industry at one of these contests, as publishers, supplement company owners, and many other business people are in attendance. It's basically like going to a trade show.

Winning, however, doesn't guarantee success because the person taking home first prize may not have the qualities that a particular publisher is looking for. As in Hollywood, some fitness models just have "the look" and some don't.

Will Brink, author of Body Building Revealed and Fat Loss Revealed, advises prospective fitness models to network -- they should attend trade shows armed with business cards and high-quality photographs. Brink says that hopefuls should also look at the credits in fitness magazines, collect the names of publishers and editors, and send pictures directly to them.

In addition to being proactive, Brink says aspiring fitness models need to be aware of and steer clear of con artists. As the saying goes, if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Fitness models should be wary of anyone who offers to build a website for them at no cost. He says these deals can wind up in webmasters who pilfer the money that the site makes or they may post the pictures on porn sites. Another potential pitfall is photographers who offer to take pictures of models, yet are doing this as a hobby. Check references before hiring or signing on any dotted line.

At the start of her career, Candy Keane got hooked up with an agent of questionable quality. She paid, in her view, a great deal of money to an agency to land one job -- a $10 per hour gig as a promo model for Cadillac.

How much money can fitness models make?

If someone is looking at fitness modeling as a way to get rich quick, that person is likely to become very disappointed. That's because, according to industry experts, it's very tough to make a living from gracing the pages of fitness mags. Only a select few have done that successfully. Photographer Bill Dobbins goes far enough to say that there's really no such job as a professional fitness model.

"There are simply a lot of women who get photographs published in magazines, a few who get hired for individual jobs to do advertising or appear at booths in expos, and only a very few who actually make a living doing this kind of work," Dobbins says on his website. "It pays to remember that there is a big difference between a career and just a series of jobs."

Kim Lyons, a cover model for Muscle & Fitness Hers, agrees with Dobbins, sharing her views in that publication.

"Many models take jobs just for publicity," she said. "Even top magazines pay only an average $150 to $300 for a layout, and it takes as much as a 14-hour day to pose for that layout. When I modeled for clothing lines, sometimes I accepted free clothes as payment."

Peggy McIntaggart

A native of Penetanguishene, Ontario, this sumptuous small-town girl hit the big-time in January 1990 when she was named Playboy’s Playmate of the Month. Peggy McIntaggart promptly parlayed her notoriety into a thriving acting career with appearances in the films Lady Avenger, Into the Night and Beverly Hills Cops II, as well as an obligatory gravity-defying appearance in an episode of Baywatch. Her turn-ons include cleanliness, children, animals, and white roses, and her turnoffs are cigarettes, dirty houses, traffic, dishonesty, and judgmental people. Hopefully, you won’t judge Peggy for her views about sex. “Sex is 95% in the head,” she says. “If I find a man who's open-minded, clean and in touch with his feminine side, there's no doubt we'd have mind-blowing sex regardless of his looks.”

Kimberley Stanfield

A graduate of Lord Byng Secondary School in Vancouver, BC, Kimberley Stanfield vaulted to international stardom in July 2001 when she was selected as Playboy’s Playmate of the Month. This Canadian Playmate has since appeared in a number of Playboy videos, although she insists that modeling isn’t her only career ambition. “My ultimate goal is to become an elementary school teacher,” she says. “I love working with kids.” Kimberley Stanfield’s turn-ons include genuinely nice people who are honest and true to themselves, and her turnoffs are rude and phony people with superior attitudes. “Everyone is equal in my eyes,” she says. Hey, it looks like you have a shot with her after all.

Brooke Berry

http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads8/bb24.jpg

We’re not sure which is more impressive: the fact that Brooke Berry is the niece of Jan & Dean rocker Jan Berry or the fact that Jan is the uncle of Brooke. Either way, it’s clear that fame -- and striking good looks -- run in the family, as evidenced by Brooke Berry’s sizzling pictorial in the May 2000 issue of Playboy. This gorgeous Canadian Playmate has since appeared in several red-hot Playboy videos, including Wet & Wild: Slippery When Wet and the equally alluring Playmates on the Catwalk. Her turn-ons include intelligence, confidence and humour, and her turnoffs are arrogant, vain and selfish people. She also hates bad breath and body odour, so don’t forget to bring along your Tic Tacs and Speed Stick.
